Our history – Viehhandel Anton Gribl

Gribl has been trading animals for seven decades. The founder of the company, Anton Gribl, settled in Augsburg-Kriegshaber in the middle of the city in 1950 and bought horses from local farmers that were sent to the Lake Constance region. In 1965 his son Kurt took over the livestock trading company. During this time, the farming operations were supplied with dairy cows.

In 1987 his son Anton Gribl took over the, by now well established, animal trading company from his father. As the growing company could not expand any further within the city, Anton Gribl searched for new premises in 1987.

He found what he wanted in Reutern and moved the company to the new site in 1988; this is the current headquarters of the company. Anton Gribl bought a farm, demolished the old building and tarmacked the yard. The company specialises in trading calves. Today 500 to 1000 calves, weaners, young heifers and large cattle are sold domestically and abroad every week.

The 64 years of company history were written by four generations of Gribl.
